Nocturne

Nocturne is a downtempo hip hop instrumental from Sonic Skillz, built around warm electric piano, strings, and a laid-back rhythm. Its mellow arrangement captures the atmosphere of a city settling into the evening, with a relaxed sound suited to late-night listening.

The track draws inspiration from Nightfall, a piece of music from the video game Shenmue that accompanies the moment when evening arrives and the city’s streetlights come on. Rather than recreating the original, Sonic Skillz takes inspiration from that familiar nighttime atmosphere, giving Nocturne its own understated blend of hip-hop and ambient mood.
