Turnabout

Turnabout brings together Mega Ran and Mr. J1S for a storytelling-driven hip hop track produced by Sonic Skillz. Over a bright, melodic beat built around a sample from the end credits of the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney video game, the two emcees reflect on relationships that could have been something more, only realizing what they’ve lost after it’s too late.

The song pairs its upbeat production with a bittersweet lyrical theme, as Ran and J1S each share their own perspective on missed romantic opportunities. While its title and musical foundation nod to the Ace Attorney series, Turnabout stands on its own as a relatable story about hindsight, regret, and the people who might have been “the one.”
